Alzar School is seeking an energetic Director of Admissions to lead the schools recruiting, admissions, and enrollment efforts.  The successful candidate will have a proven professional track record, including work with similar organizations or companies and experience working with and around teenagers.

This is a dynamic and demanding position, vitally important to the long-term success of the school.  As such, the Director of Admissions must be prepared to be a flexible, committed member of a team working to establish the school.  It is a salaried, full-time position, starting Spring 2019. Strategic direction and development of the school

 

It is the duty of the Director of Admissions to work with the Head of School, Executive Director, faculty and other staff to implement the strategic plan for the school and its community.

The Director of Admissions will be expected to:

 

  1. Articulate and understand the vision, mission, and goals of Alzar School.
  2. Demonstrate  enthusiasm for interacting with colleagues, parents, volunteers and stakeholders.
  3. Attend meetings and work sessions at the Alzar School campus as required.

 

Leadership of Recruiting, Admissions, and Enrollment Process

 

The Director of Admissions will be inheriting a recruiting system that has effectively grown the school over the past seven years.  This system was created based on the model used by other semester school programs around the country. However, the Director of Admissions will be expected to bring and implement creative new ideas to the system.

The Director of Admissions will be expected to:

 

  1. Develop and stick to a budget for materials, recruiting, admissions, travel, and enrollment.
  2. Maintain established contact and relationships with schools, through phone calls, emails, and site visits.
  3. Research and reach out to new schools around the country to establish new relationships.
  4. Arrange for travel, including purchasing flights, coordinating rental cars, and making hotel reservations for recruiting trips.
  5. Travel to various locations around the country for recruiting purposes, for approximately 10 weeks per year.
  6. Work on assigned duties remotely (during recruiting trips).
  7. Maintain a database using Blackbaud’s OnBoard and Raiser’s Edge of potential/actual sending schools, potential students, and parents of potential students.Membership in larger facultyThe Director of Admissions is responsible for working with the other faculty and staff of the Alzar School to maintain a culture of learning and leadership development. 

    The Director of Admissions will be expected to:

     

    1. Maintain professional standards and to help develop constructive working relationships amongst other staff members.
    2. Participate in frequent staff meetings.
    3. Work in small groups of staff members to work on school improvement goals.
